Austin-based southern soul / R&B
Suburban Beat was born in 2012 in the garage of husband and wife team Peter Mazzetti and Courtney Gray. The name came naturally. They lived on Suburban Drive with a minivan in the driveway, two kids running to soccer practice, and songs taking shape whenever life allowed. It was the perfect setting for the musical musings of a suburban couple determined to keep creating.
Performing all original music, Suburban Beat blends World Beat, Funk, Fusion, Rock, Jazz, and Pop into an energetic, danceable sound that's uniquely their own.
The band's musicians bring decades of professional performance and recording experience. Individually, members have shared stages with or opened for artists including The Young Rascals, Bo Diddley, The Who, Joe Cuba, and Tito Puente, while building long careers throughout Austin and beyond.
Today, Suburban Beat features Courtney Gray on lead vocals, Peter Mazzetti on lead guitar, Coleman Berg on keyboards, Steve Bernstein on saxophone, Jack Daniel on drums, and Will Dunlap on bass.
